Who places your implant

Dr. Prashant Nanda is a periodontist and oral implantologist (MDS, FICOI USA, FRSH UK). A periodontist specialises in the gums and the bone that hold teeth in place, which is exactly what an implant depends on. He sees patients in Defence Colony on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and at our Golf Course Road clinic in Gurgaon on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Who implants are for

  • One missing tooth, replaced without cutting down the teeth on either side as a bridge would
  • Several missing teeth, replaced with individual implants or an implant-supported bridge
  • All teeth missing, or failing, in one jaw: All-on-4 implants give a fixed set of teeth on four implants
  • Loose dentures that need to be held firmly

Implants are not suitable for everyone straight away. Active gum disease must be treated first, uncontrolled diabetes and heavy smoking raise the risk of failure, and some people need bone grafting before an implant can go in. Dr. Prashant will explain these honestly, along with the alternatives: a bridge or a removable denture. See dental implants vs dentures.

How treatment works

  1. Consultation and imaging. We examine your gums and bite and take the X-rays or 3D imaging needed to measure the bone.
  2. Gum health first. If there is gum disease, it is treated before any implant is placed. See gum treatment.
  3. Implant placement. The implant is placed under local anaesthesia. Most patients describe pressure rather than pain.
  4. Healing. The bone bonds to the implant over a few months. A temporary tooth can often be worn in the meantime.
  5. Your final crown. The permanent crown, bridge or full-arch teeth are made to match your smile and fitted.

Timelines vary with bone quality and whether grafting is needed. You will get your own timeline at the consultation. Read what to expect from the implant procedure and how to care for implants afterwards.

Cost and warranty

TreatmentStarting price
Single dental implant₹50,000 onwards
All-on-4 full-arch implants₹2,50,000 onwards per jaw

The final cost depends on the number of implants, any bone grafting and the type of crown. Payment by cash, card, UPI or EMI. See the full breakdown on our dental implant cost in Delhi page.

Warranty: if an implant we placed fails, we replace it. Crowns and bridges are covered for up to 5 years from placement. No dental treatment succeeds 100% of the time; the dental literature puts implant success at around 95%. We replace work rather than refund it, and replacement may need healing time before the implant is redone.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a dental implant cost in Defence Colony?

A single implant at our Defence Colony clinic starts at ₹50,000. All-on-4 full-arch implants start at ₹2,50,000 per jaw. The final cost is confirmed after examination and imaging.

Who places the implants?

Dr. Prashant Nanda, a periodontist and oral implantologist (MDS, FICOI), plans and places the implants. He is in Defence Colony on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Is there a warranty on implants?

Yes. If an implant we placed fails, we replace it. Crowns and bridges are covered for up to 5 years from placement. We replace rather than refund.

How long does the whole process take?

It usually takes a few months, because the bone needs time to bond to the implant before the final crown is fitted. Bone grafting adds time. You get your own timeline at the consultation.

Does getting an implant hurt?

The implant is placed under local anaesthesia, so most people feel pressure rather than pain. Some soreness for a few days afterwards is normal.

What if I don’t have enough bone?

Bone grafting can often rebuild the area first. In a full jaw, All-on-4 is designed to use the available bone. Dr. Prashant will explain the options after imaging.
